This course will suit you if you enjoy reading novels, poetry and plays at home for pleasure, enjoy studying issues affecting our lives today - issues of love, war, religion, politics and anything else that shapes who we are; enjoy discussion and debate. In the first year you will study a diverse and interesting range of texts, from tragedy to modern prose. You will study critical theories and texts to prepare for your non-examined assessment (NEA). In the second year you will be examined through 3 exam papers; looking at the theme of Women in Society; and broaden your knowledge of poetry, written post 2000.
- 5 GCSEs at grade 5 and above this must include GCSE Maths and GCSE English (Language or Literature)
80% Examination, 20% Coursework.
