This 2 year course, equivalent to one A level, is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. The qualification is aimed at students who have an interest in engineering and are looking to follow a career in engineering, design, technology, physics or maths. The course uses a combination of assessment styles to help students apply their knowledge to succeed in the workplace and develop study skills to continue on to Higher Education. Students will study 4 units, 2 of which are internally assessed and 2 externally assessed, acquiring a range of practical and transferrable skills. The range of assessments – both practical and written – help students showcase their learning and achievements to best effect.
