A Level Fine Art is an exciting and challenging course. The aim of the course is to develop you as an artist through research and investigation using a wide range of materials and processes in new and challenging ways. You will be expected to push your creative boundaries and work outside your comfort zone to explore what you are capable of in original and exciting ways. Each year is broken into 2 units; a coursework project and an exam. As you work on projects that you have created yourself your teacher will guide you to fulfil your potential.
5 A* to C GCSE grades including English and Maths and preferably a B in subject studying.
Your grade depends on how well you record observations with use of Fine Art media, links you make with other artist’s work, how you develop ideas & on inventiveness and relevance of your final artwork. You'll receive regular mark sheets for the sketchbook of work produced. You'll have conversations about your work where you are expected to to discuss your ideas and studies in detail with a sense of purpose. These conversations are recorded by your teacher. Year 13 - 60% Coursework and 40% exam.
