A-level Religious Studies helps students develop their interest in, and enthusiasm for, a rigorous study of Religion, philosophy and ethics and their relation to the wider world. This course encourages students to reflect on and develop their own values, opinions and attitudes in the light of their learning. Students will have an opportunity to study aspects of one or more religions, including textual, theological, historical, ethical, phenomenological and philosophical perspectives. 5 A* to C GCSE grades including English and Maths and preferably a B in subject studying.
At the end of the second year each unit will be assessed via a 3-hour examination and each paper is worth 50% of the final mark. Candidates study a selection of units from a choice of available.
