Explores questions raised by religion and belief, such as the existence of God, religious experience, pain and suffering to help students develop an understanding of spiritual, moral, ethical, social and cultural issues. This course links with many other subject disciplines. 'Religion and Ethics' develops an understanding of the bases or morality and ethics and considers a variety of responses to ethical issues. 'Developments in Religious Thought' deepens understanding of the ways in which culture shapes and is shaped by religious belief. If you are ready to think - and maybe think twice - Religious Studies will help you do that.
Preferably at least a grade 6 or higher in Religious Studies at GCSE • Passes at grade 4 or above in English Language (not English Literature) and Mathematics • At least six GCSE passes at Grade 5 to 9 • A Grade 6 or above in the subjects the student wishes to study at Advanced level or in any prerequisite subjects
Written examination externally assessed by the awarding body.
