If you are passionate about art, design and/or photography including drawing, graphics, and textiles or you want to be an artist, photographer or fashion designer – it all starts here. Our Level 3 Art and Design qualification is a two-year University of the Arts London course which will suit anyone whose priority and focus is on art, design and photography as a career and wants to go to university. You will learn new techniques, materials and processes through a range of practical lessons and tutorials including printmaking, painting, 3D, illustration, ceramics and animation. You will create a portfolio of art and design work for university and work application interviews. You will display your work to the public in end-of-year exhibitions and take part in real industry set project briefs.
You will need to have a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 or above including maths and English, or completion of Art and Design Level 2 at merit grade, and a sketchbook or portfolio of artwork which could be photography, art, design and/or textiles to bring to your interview.
Work is project-based and presented in sketchbooks and a portfolio which is showcased in an end-of-year exhibition. You will be assessed and supported throughout the two-year course with regular reviews, formative and final assessments gaining a pass, merit or distinction.
