Course summary

It is a subject in which the emphasis is placed on language work, where you will continue to build upon the skills already acquired at GCSE. The language is studied through the medium of audio materials, videos, and written texts, covering a range of topics. There are 4 modules for certification at A level: - Social issues and trends - Political and artistic culture - Grammar Works: literary texts and films We will study “El Laberinto del Fauno”, a film by Guillermo del Toro, and “La Casa de Bernada Alba”, a play by Federico Garcia.

Entry requirements

Students will be expected to have met St Paul’s entry requirements of 2 Grade 5’s and 4 Grade 4’s. A minimum of grade 4 in English and Maths is essential for all courses. GCSE in Spanish is essential.
