The Fine Art course is designed to equip students with a range of subject specific and transferable skills, providing a platform to inspire a lifelong interest in and enjoyment of Art. It develops technical and practical understanding and the ability to apply this to a range of different media. The course is also valuable in refining visual literacy skills, contextual understanding, the ability to follow the creative process, exploration, experimentation and providing the opportunity to produce personal and meaning pieces of art.
- Beyond the minimum entry criteria for Level 3 learning of 5 A*-C GCSE Grades, students will also be expected to achieve a minimum B Grade in GCSE Art with the possibility of a portfolio interview to be considered for entry to the course. - All students will also need to have attained at least a grade 4 in both English (Language or Literature) and Maths.
