Course summary

Mathematics is a broad spectrum which all pupils have studied since the moment they entered school. There are many aspects of mathematics but here at TMS we focus on the interpretation and analysis of mathematical situations. Studying mathematics helps to make sense of the world and this course is aimed at doing just that through 12 fundamental concepts which are used to promote an understanding of the world around us and to see the beauty in the everyday. Without mathematics, the world would be very limited and so this course aims to delve into the beauty and relevance of mathematics. It's about identifying patterns and using mathematical knowledge to solve problems that would be faced in the real world. Ultimately, mathematics makes the world go round. Entry requirements

Students who intend to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme will be required to achieve six GCSEs at a grade 6 or above, with 7’s in their chosen Higher-Level subjects. Mathematics grade 5 or above.
