Learners must achieve all mandatory units which include: • Health and safety in the salon • Client care and consultation • Body analysis • Skin analysis • Swedish massage therapy • Body electrical treatment • Facial electrical treatment • Electrical science • Mechanical massage • Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems The recommended textbooks are: Beauty Therapy Level 3 5th Edition by Lorraine Nordmann Anatomy and Physiology 5th Edition by Helen McGuinness.
NVQ Level 2 Beauty. Level 2 beauty or sufficient commercial experience is essential. It is an advantage to be comfortable working on the computer as all exams are online and all assignments.
Continuous assessment of practical skills will prepare students for graded assessments which are set throughout the year. A graded end-of-year practical synoptic exam and written exams are required to pass the qualification, an overall grade will then be awarded which will be a pass, merit or distinction.
