You will investigate the historical, social, cultural, environmental, and economic influences on design and technology to give you a firm understanding and awareness of real-world design, including current technologies and trends, whilst enjoying the opportunities to put what has been learned into practice by producing a range of varied prototypes of your choice. Over the two years, you will be encouraged to take design risks, show innovation, and work collaboratively with others, including users and experts to develop and refine your design skill set. You will draw on knowledge from other subject areas too such as science and maths to inform design decisions and apply these skills when making.
