Course summary

This course allows students to consider lifestyle choices and what impact these can have on health and well-being, as well as investigate different jobs in the care sector. If you would like a course that enables you to experience some of the workplaces that care for adults, young children, or those with special needs, then Health and Social Care is a great starting point. Through this BTEC you could go on to relevant employment or training within health and social care services such as Social Work, Midwifery, and Paramedic of Care work.

Entry requirements

Five standard passes at GCSE (9-4) in five different subjects (only one BTEC will be considered), with at least one being GCSE English or GCSE Maths.

• Human Lifespan Development - 90-minute written exam, set and marked externally • Working in Health & Social Care - 90-minute written exam, set and marked externally • Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs - Internal assignment • Optional Unit - Sociological Perspectives - Internal assignment
