This Physics A Level study programme is made up of theoretical units, building on and extending the physics knowledge gained from GCSE, and introducing new subject areas. You will study the following topics: • Basic laws of the universe • Understanding motion, forces, work and energy • The behaviour of materials • Electricity • Quantum mechanics • Newton's laws • Electric and magnetic fields • Circular and simple harmonic motion • Atoms and nucleus • The physics of medicine You are required to take Mathematics A Level alongside Physics A Level.
You must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language. You will need a grade 6 in Maths and a grade 6 in Physics or grade 6 in both Core Science and Additional Science.
