What will I learn in this course? The course examines the way businesses operate and interact with the business environment. Analytical thinking in applying business concepts to real and fictitious scenarios is important. An interest in why businesses take the actions that they do is very useful. The course goes well with most subjects and as most people work for Businesses it is relevant to most future careers. The A Level Business course is divided into 4 themes Marketing and people – covering meeting customer needs, the nature of the market, the marketing mix and strategy, motivation, entrepreneurs, and leadership. Managing business activities – covering raising, planning, and managing finance, operations & resource management as well as external influences. Business decisions and strategy – covering objectives, strategy and growth, decision-making techniques (some number work), and managing change. o Global business – covering the development of globalization, business expansion, global marketing, and multinational corporations.
Business 5 or above in Mathematics and English Language or English Literature
In Year 12 students take 2 papers to gain an AS qualification, this will cover topics 1 & 2. In Year 13 students take three separate examinations to gain the A Level qualification, each exam will cover elements from topics 1 to 4.
