Psychology is the study of individuals and the factors that affect their choices and behaviour. There are a number of key approaches to explain behaviour such as the psychodynamic approach and the cognitive approach. We also study how to modify unwanted behaviours using techniques such as psychotherapy and drugs.

Paper 2 Psychology in Context (Approaches, psychopathology, research methods) Multiple choice, short answer and 12m extended answer. (Both papers are worth 50% of AS level- this is a stand-alone qualification) A Level - 3 exams June Y13. Paper 1 Introductory topics in psychology (social influence, memory, attachment and psychopathology). Paper 2 Psychology in Context (Approaches, biopsychology, psychopathology, research methods, issues, and debates in psychology). Paper 3 Issues and options in psychology (e.g. relationships, stress, and aggression). (24 mark and essays at A2) Multiple choice, short answer, and 16m extended answer There is no coursework. (All 3 papers are worth 33.3. of final A level)
