This course covers a range of traditional and contemporary geographical topics. It is divided into physical and human topics that incorporate a range of areas including coasts, hazards, globalization and social and political geographies. There is a focus on using up-to-date information that is relevant to the world around us. Alongside this, the A Level course offers students an opportunity to develop their investigative and analytical skills through an independent investigation. The NEA will begin in Y12 and be completed in Y13. This will require fieldwork to be undertaken and we currently spend a week on the North Yorkshire coastline at the beginning of Y13 where we will conduct physical and human fieldwork at a range of locations to assist students in the completion of their geographical investigation (NEA).
