Course summary

Photography is an art-based subject. You will be taught basic and more advanced photographic skills alongside the creative use of digital software. If you’re interested in expressing yourself through the lens and have a desire to master image manipulation and enhancement, then this is the course for you. Entry requirements

Five standard passes at GCSE (9-4) in five different subjects (only one BTEC will be considered), with at least one being GCSE English or GCSE Maths. A minimum of grade 4 in related GCSE subjects (Art, Textiles or Graphics). Completion of a ‘precourse task’ to check if you are a suitable candidate if you do not have a creative background.

How you'll be assessed

This course is 60% coursework and 40% externally set examination. All work is internally assessed and then externally verified by an exam board moderator.
