Many of our A-level Maths students are more than capable of studying extra topics. Those who choose to study extra topics invariably benefit from doing so. A quick glance at students who gain entry to Oxbridge reveals a significant number with a double maths qualification. If you were in one of our top two sets for GCSE you should give some thought to A-level Further Maths. The overarching topics are the same as A-level – Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Mechanics but there is also the possibility of studying Decision Mathematics.
GCSE grade 7 or above in Mathematics.
The assessment structure depends on the exact combination of topics chosen but in essence, it is examined by a number of written papers. There is no coursework.
