Although talent is useful, attitude is far more important. Theatre Studies students need to be hard working, motivated, committed and, above all, prepared to work as part of a team. Much of your time will be spent in preparing for productions, learning new techniques, conducting research and writing essays. You will be exploring play texts of different periods and genres, as well as devising your own drama and critiquing the work of theatre professionals. While everyone is involved in all aspects of productions, some students specialise in a technical skill such as costume, set, directing, sound or masks rather than acting.
