This Level 3 qualification offers a practical introduction to business and supports progression to further study or employment. It builds on the strengths of the A Level Applied Business specifications. The qualification has been developed in collaboration with teachers, schools, colleges, and higher education. The course will help learners develop fundamental business and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills valued in the world of work and higher education. There will be new, modern areas of business introducing students looking to study business in a vocational and applied context. A prerequisite to the course is that you have a keen interest in the world of business and how it is run. The course requires students to use real businesses to apply the theory that they have learned. They will need to work in groups, as well as alone, and show their ability to apply their knowledge in a real-world style of role-playing. The content includes: • Financial planning and analysis • Business dynamics • Entrepreneurial opportunities • Managing and Leading People • Developing a business proposal • Marketing Communications
You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9 - 5 including at least grade 5 in English and Maths. If you have studied Business before, a grade 5 is required.
The course has a mixture of exam (50%) and coursework (50%) elements.
