The following themes are explored: 1. Physical Geography - 2 hour 30 minutes examination (40% of A-Level) ● Water and Carbon Cycles ● Coastal Systems and Landscapes ● Hazards 2. Human Geography - 2 hours 30 minutes examination (40% of A-Level) ● Global Systems and Global Governance ● Changing Places ● Population and the Environment 3. Geographical Investigation – 3,000-4,000 word essay (20% of the A-Level) Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected in the field. The individual investigation must be based on a question or issue defined and developed by the student relating to any part of the specification content.
GCSE Geography Grade 6 or Grade 6 in a corresponding Humanity subject. A grade 6 in GCSE Maths would put applicants at a greater advantage.
