
Learners take 12 units over 2 years made up of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units are: Building positive relationships in Health and Social Care Equality, diversity and rights in Health and Social Care Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care Infection control Anatomy and physiology for Health & Social Care. Learners will develop skills such as communication skills as well as transferable skills such as research, planning and organisation.
5 GCSEs graded 9 – 4, including English and Mathematics.
4 units are externally set and marked by OCR. These can be taken at any stage of the 2 year course (exams). All other units are internally assessed in the centre and moderated by OCR (coursework). Each unit is of equal weighting. The qualification is graded D*, D, M, P (Distinction, Merit and Pass).
