This is a nationally recognised qualification that is fully endorsed by Cambridge University, Arts Council England, RADA and LAMDA and carries equal UCAS weighting to standard A Levels. Students following the Foundation Diploma will be required to specialise in one of the 4 key areas: Drama/Dance/Music/Production. This course is highly flexible and is shaped according to the individual - students can follow pathways in Acting, Directing, Dance, Choreography, Singing, Music Technology, Live Music Performance, Musical Theatre and Theatre Production. There are a wide range of units to choose from and students are encouraged to personalise their learning experience.
Students must achieve 5 qualifications at Grade 4 or above to return to 6th Form at PCHS .
Mandatory Units 1, 2 & 3 are externally set and assessed by the Exam Board - assessment takes the form of filmed practical performance, presentation to camera and written coursework. All remaining units are internally assessed and take the form of teacher assessed performances, reports, projects, portfolios and seminar style presentations.
