Course summary

A wide range of everyday spoken and written texts along with the linguistic and grammatical concepts we need to analyse and explore how people are using their language to present their thoughts, feelings, values and identities in any situation. You may discover, as George Bernard Shaw writes, that "the majesty and grandeur of the English language [is] the greatest possession we have."

Entry requirements

Six GCSEs, with a minimum of five grade 4 and one grade 6. These must be in a minimum of five different subjects. This must include a minimum of grade 4 in English Language GCSE or Maths GCSE. 4 in English Language GCSE.

How you'll be assessed

2 x 2.5 hour exams plus coursework.
