However, be prepared to be challenged: sociologists fundamentally disagree on nearly every issue and the subject is characterised by intensive debate and perspective rivalry. The course encourages you to develop a strong understanding of contemporary issues and debates. It is a good choice for a wide range of career and university routes, developing widely recognised skills: critical thinking, research skills and a sound understanding of the society we live in. Students will study five modules during the Sociology course, these are : Education, Culture and Identity, Theory and Methods, Crime and Deviance, Beliefs in Society.
- Grade 5 in GCSE English. - Our entry requirements are five GCSE passes at grade 5 to 9, including English and Maths
Assessment is by end of course examinations.
