Course summary

A level Computer Science is a two-year course that prepares students for the OCR H446 specification examination. The computer science A Level covers a range of theory topics, including the principles and understanding linked to programming, hardware and software, networks, systems development life cycles and implications of computer use. The course allows you to use any programming language that meets the needs of the project.

Entry requirements

5 in Computer Science and a 5 in Maths. If Computer Science has not been studied at GCSE, please contact Mr Andrew Hipperson.

How you'll be assessed

A Level Computer Science is assessed through two written exams (each worth 40%) and a Programming Project (worth 20%).
