COMPONENT 1: PHYSIOLOGICAL FACTORS AFFECTING PERFORMANCE Focuses on key systems of the human body involved in movement and physical activity and the changes within these systems prior to, during & after exercise. COMPONENT 2: PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS AFFECTING PERFORMANCE Focuses on the psychological factors physical activities and sports, including: theories that learning and performance in physical activities; training and feedback; group dynamics and goal setting. Students will gain an understanding of the psychological factors that performance in sport. COMPONENT 3: SOCIO-CULTURAL AND CONTEMPORARY ISSUES Focuses on the sociological and contemporary factors that and physical activity and sport including: society & culture; the Olympic movement and modern technology. COMPONENT 4: PERFORMANCE WITHIN PHYSICAL EDUCATION Candidates perform or coach a sport or activity from the approved DfE list Candidates complete an Evaluation and Analysis of Performance for Improvement (EAPI) where learners will identify and justify the major area of weakness within the performance to prioritise for improvement. This will include a proposed long term (2-3months) development plan to improve the area of performance identified.
