You'll develop the professional and personal skills required to work in the care sector, as well as geting an understanding of the importance of delivering, person-centred care and support. You'll explore human anatomy and physiology and understand the principles and values that underpin good quality care services including equality, respecting diversity and promoting inclusive practice. There'll have the chance to focus on psychology or sociology topics, public health, nutrition, infection control or supporting people with specific needs such as dementia or mental health conditions through additional optional units.
A 5 in GCSE Health and Social Care or Merit or above at Level 2 BTEC in Health and Social care.
Assessment is varied and includes evidence from work experience placements, presentations, role-plays, written assignments, reflective diary entries and written exams. The course is excellent preparation for university level study or working life in an occupation within the health or social care sectors.
