
Students will develop their passion and curiosity around higher level Maths and begin to realise the links between all aspects of Mathematics. Students will deepen their knowledge of Algebra and Geometry whilst tackling problem style questions that draw on all aspects of their prior learning. Students in year 12 learn from a diverse curriculum containing mandatory elements from Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Proof, Functions, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry, Exponentials, Logarithms and Vectors. In year 13 students develop these new skills and broaden their knowledge of these topics. Students are also required to learn a basic level of advanced Statistical Maths and Applied Maths.
Grade 6 in GCSE Maths, Grade 5 in GCSE English Languageor Literature.
AS Assessments can be taken at the end of Year 12, but results do not go towards any future A Level examinations. AS Examinations = 2 Papers, 1x2hrs (Core) and 1x75mins (Stats/Mechanics) A Level Examinations = 3 Papers, 3x100mins (2xCore and 1xStats/Mechanics)
