Drama at Key Stage 5 follows in succession from the Eduqas GCSE; Eduqas’s A-Level in Drama and Theatre. Throughout the course, students explore key influential theatre practitioners, gain considerable performance and design experience and develop reflective and analytical skills through the process of reviewing live and recorded theatre. The course is built of three components that focus on the creation, development and realisation of performance texts. Component 1 - Focuses on a re-interpretation of a chosen performance text. Subsequent written logs are taken alongside practical work. Component 2 - Has two objectives. • The exploration and performance of a chosen modern text. interpretation of a chosen performance text. • A grouped devising project in the style of a chosen influential practitioner. Component 3 - A final exam exploring three study texts. Subsequent written reports are taken alongside practical work. Candidates have the choice to complete the course as either a theatre performer or design candidate (lighting).
