Sociology invites us to challenge and question our common sense assumptions about society and develop a sociological imagination. Students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and reflect on social issues that are often relevant to their own social experiences. This course offers the opportunity to acquire knowledge and a critical understanding of contemporary social processes and social changes. Developing strong critical thinking skills and being able to consider issues with a global outlook will be of huge benefit to students moving forward, whether in further education, the workplace or society in general.
- In addition to the general entry requirements for the Herschel Consortium, you will need at least a Grade 6 in English Language, or Grade 6 in English Literature combined with a Grade 5 in Language. - 5 GCSE passes at Grades 9-5 - At least Grade 4 in Mathematics and English Language - At least Grade 5 in English Language or English Literature
Continuous assessment and an external exam.
