The Geography Syllabus tackles up-to-date issues across the Geographical spectrum. Over the two years we study a wide variety of topics. It dovetails well with other A level courses such as Law, English and History. The syllabus contains the following components: Component 1 Physical Geography, includes water and carbon cycles, coastal systems and landscapes and Hazards Component 2 Human Geography, includes Global systems and global governance , Changing places and Population and the environment Classroom based. field work is an important and compulsory part of the study and in Year 12 a residential programme takes place. Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected in the field.
In order to gain entry into The Boswells Sixth Form all students must achieve a minimum of 40 points from their best 8 GCSE subjects, including aminimum grade 4 in English Language and Maths. Subject Specific: Grade 6 in GCSE Geography and Grade 5 in GCSE English Language.
