Biology is a linear qualification and so is examined at the end of year two. There are three exams that cover the following topics: • Biological molecules • Cells • Exchange of substances with the environment • Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms • Energy transfers in and between organisms • Responses to change in internal and external environments • Genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems • The control of gene expression
• GCSE Science at grade 6/6 or GCSE Biology at grade 6 or above. • In addition to this, students are required to have GCSE Maths at grade 5 or above.
