This course will suit you if you really find Mathematics an interesting subject and you enjoy solving problems, have a desire to be challenged and stretched by studying more difficult topics and have a logical mind and want to develop your reasoning abilities. A Level Mathematics builds on and extends the skills and content from GCSE Mathematics. The emphasis on problem solving from GCSE is developed further and you will gain more confidence in constructing mathematical arguments. You will also learn how increasingly complex real-life scenarios can be modelled mathematically. The course comprises three elements: pure mathematics, mechanics and statistics and these three elements are covered in both Years 12 and 13.
5 GCSEs at grade 5 and above. This must include GCSE Maths and GCSE English (Language or Literature) In addition to the general entry requirements, pupils must have attained at least a Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics
