Provides a solid introduction to the subject for those who have not studied it before. Topics covered in this section are memory, mental illness, attachment, and social influence Component 2 - Psychology in Context + 33.3% 2-hour exam Introduces the scientific approaches used in Psychology. Allows students to learn how to design and conduct their own research as well as learn the different approaches currently used in the field of Psychology. Year 13 Component 3 - Issues and options in Psychology + 33.3% 2-hour exam Issues and debates- Some of Psychology’s most controversial debates are discussed and applied to modern day issues and research. Options - Allows students to study a broad range of focused topics. 3 out of the 9 options can be chosen for study. Options are: Relationships, Gender, Cognition and Development, Schizophrenia, Eating behaviour, Stress, Aggression, Forensic Psychology, Addiction.
