This course develops an understanding of computer science and problem solving, preparing students for a broad range of careers including software engineering and development. They also learn how a computer processes information and how to program in high level and object-oriented language. A detailed examination of computer hardware, systems and organisation is also undertaken.
- Prospective students are expected to achieve grade 6 or above in GCSE Computing; they should have prior knowledge of computer programming and are also expected to achieve grade 6 or above in Mathematics or a grade 6 or above in one or more Science subjects at GCSE. - 5 or more GCSE grades 5 - 9 (or equivalent), all of which must be full GCSE courses.
