Course summary

We all like to speculate about why people behave as they do and we try to find reasons for their behaviour . The fascinating subject of Psychology does this in a scientific way. Students will learn to design and run scientific investigations into human behaviour and will develop their skills to analyse and critically evaluate theories put forward to explain our own and others behaviour . Topics covered in the first year include mental illness, obedience, attachment, memory and stress amongst others. In the second year a variety of topics will be covered in more depth from topics including addiction, schizophrenia, eating behaviour and aggression.
