Course summary

The BTEC National Qualifications in Health and Social Care is a practical, work-related course that will provide you with an introduction and Overview of the health and social care sectors and help to support your career choices. BTEC Nationals use a combination of assessment styles to give students confidence so that they can apply their knowledge to succeed in the workplace and have the study skills to continue their learning on to higher education courses.

Entry requirements

5 good GCSE passes including English and maths at grade 5 and above. All other GCSEs grade 4 and above.

How you'll be assessed

360 GLH (480 TQT) Equivalent in size to one A Level. 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are external. Mandatory content (83%). External assessment (58%) A broad basis of study for the health and social care sector. This qualification is designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a program of study that includes other appropriate BTEC National or A Levels.
