You will study 14 units across the two years of the course: ten mandatory units and four units which are externally assessed. Unit 1 – Anatomy & Physiology (External Assessment) Unit 2 – Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being (External Assessment) Unit 3 – Professional Development in the Sports Industry Unit 4 – Sports Leadership Unit 7 – Practical Sports Performance Unit 8 – Coaching for Performance Unit 9 – Research Methods in Sport Unit 19 – Development and Provision of Sport and Physical Activity (External Assessment) Unit 22 – Investigating Business in the Sport and Active Leisure Industry (External Assessment) Unit 23 – Skill Acquisition in Sport You will also study a further four optional units: Unit 5 – Application of Fitness Testing Unit 6 – Sports Psychology Unit 29 – Exercise for Specific Groups Unit 30 – Exercise for Health & Lifestyle You’ll study a wide range of different topics including anatomy and physiology, and fitness training and programming for health, sport and wellbeing. Students will be required to be motivated to work consistently and independently to achieve the requirements of the qualification. With a range of assessment methods being used, students will develop their organization, presentation, and revision skills. Students will be required to interact with a variety of people whilst completing the qualification and will therefore develop their communication and customer service skills while working with clients.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs: 9 to 4 (A*-C) including either English or Maths. OR Level 2 Vocational Programme at Merit or above PLUS 3 GCSEs 9 to 4 including either English or Maths.
