Course summary

A Level Biology is a captivating subject area, the study of which will see you learn about the biological world. A-level Biology is an in-depth study into the fascinating world of Cellular Biology and the intricate details of cellular processes. You will learn how the nervous and endocrine systems function to allow the coordination of these cells to cooperate as an organism; and you will study the impact of human activities on the wider world. Outside of the classroom, new discoveries in Biology are increasingly important in global medicine and food security and in the lessons you will study the most recent advancements in Biological Sciences including cloning, and gene technologies. Entry requirements

Triple Science 6/6/5 or Combined Science 6/5. At least 4 x GCSE at grade 5 or above. GCSE English 5. GCSE Maths 5.

How you'll be assessed

All assessment is 100% exam-based at the end of Year 13. There is also a practical element to the course which you are required to pass.
