Course summary

Anyone who has a keen interest in creating and listening to different styles of music and who wishes to broaden their experience and deepen their understanding of both live and recorded music. You must play an instrument and/or sing and be involved in musical performances. The level of instrumental expertise required at A level should be around Grade 6. It is useful to have taken Music at GCSE level, but it is not essential as long as you can already play a musical instrument or sing and are able to read music. The course is flexible enough to enable you to weigh the course towards your musical strengths (performing or composing) as well as developing other areas. The key areas are Performing, Composing, Listening and Analysing Skills.
