A-Level Law develops knowledge and understanding of the English Legal system. Students will learn how laws are made, interpreted, and applied; study, evaluate, and apply case law developed by the judiciary and analyse how well our legal system delivers justice. Students will be required to confidently express their views (backing them up with evidence) and to reflect on up-to-date issues in modern society. In addition to learning substantive law, many students enjoy the practical application of the subject, which encourages a critical evaluation of material encountered in their everyday lives. How do we decide who is right and who is wrong? A-Level Law is an inspiring and academically demanding course. The course will enable you to develop your problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and evaluation skills and will encourage you to think independently. These skills provide excellent preparation for progression onto degree-level study as well as a wide range of careers. Students will complete an in-house assessment in Year 1 and the full A-Level in Year 2. Law is taught by Daniel Millican, a solicitor with a postgraduate qualification from the University of Oxford and fourteen years of experience in legal practice.
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above which must include Maths, and English Language at grade 6.
