Course summary

BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 requires you to have an interest in the Health and Social care sectors, an ability to communicate ideas effectively, an ability to organise yourself and your work to meet regular deadlines and an ability to work independently to research and investigate topics. (Single Award equivalent to 1 A level). This comprises four units of work. Two written exams focussing on Human Lifespan Development and Working in Health and Social Care. In addition to this there are two pieces of coursework. One with a focus on Meeting individual care and support needs and the second on Physiological Disorders.

Entry requirements

Minimum requirement: 5/L2M in Health and Social Care (if studied at GCSE) or a 4 in English.

Examinations: Year 12 ● Unit 1 - Human Lifespan Development External examination. (Single and Double Award) ● Unit 2 - Working in Health and Social Care External examination. (Single and Double Award) Examinations: Year 13 ● Unit 4 - Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care. (Double award only)
