Physics
Course summary
The laws of physics control the world! Study physics and understand the universe. Physics explains how everyday objects operate and discusses how they can be improved. Learn how objects move under the influences of forces and energy, change how electricity works, and the mysterious relationship between photons and waves. In year two, you will cover specialized topics such as cosmology, nuclei and fundamental particles, and medical physics. A Level of physics gives you access to university to study a BSc in physics or other areas including engineering and medicine. First year (AS): Unit 1: mechanics, motion, forces, work, and energy Unit 2: electrons, waves, and photons Unit 3: Practical Skills 1 Second year (A2): Unit 1: the Newtonian world; The motion of the planets and stars Unit 2: frontiers of science; The Big Bang!, medical physics and modeling the universe Unit 3: Practical Skills 2
