Chemistry A is a flexible, content-led approach where the specification is divided into topics, each covering different key concepts of chemistry. Teaching of practical skills is integrated with the theoretical topics and they are assessed both through written papers (15% ) and, for A level only, the Practical Endorsement. This is a practical subject and involves a high percentage of practical work. There is a strong mathematical approach to the subject and 20% of written papers will involve mathematical skills involving number and logic.
- B or above at GCSE - Cranbrook School currently requires at least a grade 4 at GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
