Course summary

Students wanting to study Level 3 BTEC Sport need to be strong independent learners who are self-motivated and natural leaders. It helps if students are engaged with sporting activities outside of school. We also suggest students have a good understanding of Science as well. This course is made up of four Units covering a range of Sport sectors Mandatory units: • Anatomy and Physiology • Fitness training and programming • Professional development in the sports industry Optional units: • Sports leadership • Application of fitness training • Sports psychology • Practical sports performance

Entry requirements

Grade 4 in GCSE PE or Merit in Level 2 BTEC Sport.

How you'll be assessed

Assessment BTEC Level 3 Nationals Sport and Sport and Exercise Science qualifications take a unit-by-unit approach and offer a combination of assessment styles. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your skills and apply your knowledge in an appropriate, work-related context, and provides evidence of what they can do when they apply to enter higher education or employment Internally assessed assignments and Externally assessed tasks and written exam.
