Course summary

You will investigate human anatomy and physiology, focusing on the musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory system and how they function during sport and fitness. You will learn about client screening and lifestyle assessment, fitness training methods and fitness programming. You'll investigate the career pathways in the sport industry and develop your own career action plan. You will be able to study one optional topic from 4 further units to tailor your qualification to the areas of the industry in which you are most interested including: Sport psychology, Sport leadership, Fitness testing, Practical sports performance. Sport and exercise is a huge and rapidly expanding global industry, whilst levels of public fitness and participation in physical activity are issues on the political agenda. Entry requirements

At least 5 9-4 grades including English and Mathematics - a minimum of merit in the vocational subject they wish to study.

How you'll be assessed

You will be assessed via a written exam at the end of the course, set tasks and coursework which will include a range of methods such as written assignments, individual and group projects, reports, presentations, practical tests and simulations.
