Studying A level Chemistry offers the opportunity to study Chemistry in a range of different contexts, conveying the excitement of Chemistry and showing the relevance of chemistry in the everyday world. The course offers many opportunities for practical work, developing skills introduced at GCSE. The course is split into ten topics, each of which covers a variety of different chemical ideas. Each topic has practical activities to complement it. Students sit three exams at the end of Year 13 with a focus on chemical knowledge and application as well as practical skills and scientific literacy. Practical skills are developed throughout the course and students receive a practical endorsement with their exam result.
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English and Maths as well as meeting subject entry requirements. 6 in GCSE Chemistry or 6,6 in Combined Science
