Art and Design (Graphics)

Course summary

You will be encouraged to develop your creativity in response to design briefs; developing investigative and analytical skills alongside an appreciation of other art and design disciplines. You will develop skills in visual communication through print, packaging, illustration and advertising. You will be guided in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, industry specified software which is used to produce work to a professional standard. In your first year you will be introduced to a breadth of techniques and media as relevant to illustration, digital drawing, packaging, brand identities, stop motion animation, and digital photography; you will use mixed media for idea generation and design production. This is to develop your portfolio of skills and extend your arts practice into the relevant career routes of Art and Design.
