Course summary

The Level 3 Technical Diploma in IT is an exciting course that develops your understanding of the principles of IT and global information systems. You will gain an insight into the IT sector and investigate technological change, the global flow of information, and legal and security considerations. The knowledge, skills, and understanding you develop will help you to either gain employment or prepare you for higher education. The course has been set up with industry professionals. The course is made up of eleven units over the 2 years. Three compulsory units: • Fundamentals of IT • Global Information • Application Design Eight optional units including: • Cyber Security • Product Development • Social Media and Digital Marketing • Project Management • Mobile Technology • Game Design • Web Development • Internet of everything

Entry requirements

Grade 4 or above in English Language and Grade 4 or above in 3 other GCSEs

How you'll be assessed

The Level 3 Technical Diploma is mainly coursework marked by your teacher and checked by the exam board. Three units over the 2 years are examinations. All units have the skills taught and then assessed with the project work or exam.
